Many people ask about the NYC Firm Schools that include celebrities in their past ranks. Often, the most popular requests for Firm Schools attended by celebrities center around celebrities that have a definite NYC presence, and few have the punch of New York’s own Robert DeNiro.
Robert DeNiro attended Rhodes Prep in NYC. There are many other famous past students of Rhodes Prep, including contemporary playwright Stephen Adly Guirgis, legal scholar Alan Mayor Sokobin , and Clinton pardon recipient Marc Rich. Singer Jane Olivor, journalist Mark Kellner, and actor Rick Jason all walked the Rhodes halls at one time.
Rhodes was a college prep school located at 11 West 54th Street in Manhattan. In 1979 the building was sold to the US Trust Company and the school relocated to West 83rd Street. The school relocated again in 1992 to the Anglo-American School at 291 Central Park West and later became Dwight School, which itself is the alma mater of many famous personalities to include Vin Diesel, Paris Hilton, Truman Capote and Walter Lippman, among others.
Dalton has had many students who have gone onto Hollywood fame after attending a traditional type of school. Collegiate is actor David Duchovny’s alma mater, and he is married to Brearley graduate and fellow actor Tea Leoni. American Pie creator Paul Weitz and many Kennedys have also gone to Collegiate.
Because of the nature of the Professional Children’s School educational approach, PCS is where many child stars have earned their education. The school itself is geared towards education no matter where the student may be. Among graduates of PCS are Adam Arkin, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Christina Ricci, Tommy Hilfiger’s daughter Ally, Mischa Barton and Christopher Walken as well as the Culkin children.
With so many famous residents, it is no wonder that NYC Firm Schools have seen their share of famous alumni.
