Situated at 195 State Street in Brooklyn, NY, the A. Fantis Parochial School is a K-8 school organized to provide one-on-one interaction between teacher and student. The classrooms are kept small deliberately so students get close personal care and instruction. The programs follow New York State Education Standards for English Language Arts, Social Studies, Mathematics and Science. The facilities are equipped with spacious classrooms, a large gymnasium, theater and Library / Media Center featuring state of the art technology and classroom computers for student access.

The No Child Left Behind Act and New York State have mandated this level of specificity for grades pre-K through 8. Music, art and  physical and health education are infused throughout a student’s weekly program.  Dramatic Arts and theatrical productions will begin in the Fall semester Greek Language and Greek as a Second Language are part of the curriculum.  Teachers work in large, small and individual groups to promote learning.

The school also offers Modern Greek Language Instruction, taught by experienced Greek teachers. The instruction is made more enjoyable for children by adding the language skills into poetry, music, drama, and the celebration of Greek holidays.

The school is committed to excellence and providing an exceptional education, which emphasizes the social development of students within an academically rigorous and innovative environment. The curriculum is in depth and thought provoking. Reading, writing, and speaking skills are stressed throughout the curriculum. The school offers education in both the English and Greek languages and prepares students for the academic demands of high school and beyond. Once a month the students attend the Divine Liturgy in Church with Father John Lardas.
