Early Childhood Education at Avenues: The World School
The major focus at Avenues: The World School, in the early childhood department, is to develop the social skills of young children and help them grow into independence.
Educators focus on developing fine and motor skills, literacy and writing, early math readiness, problem solving skills, lead students to a scientific view of the world, and assist young minds with a basic understanding of Mandarin Chinese and Spanish through a 50% immersion program.
The World Course leads students to a global view of the world by studying various topics of relevance on a global scale. Early childhood students get an introduction to The World Course.
By starting early with foreign language development, faculty at Avenues seeks to lead all students to fluency in a foreign language by the time they graduate high school. Language study is a very important part of the curriculum, and it begins in preschool.
