Celebrate Israel with the Ezra Academy

by NYC Firm Schools on August 20, 2010

Ezra Academy is located in the Forest Hills section of Queens, NY on 119-45 Union Turnpike. The academy teaches 7th through 12th grade students and is a junior and senior high school.  The school focuses on programs of Hebrew, Biblical Studies, and Jewish Law at the entrance level while also focusing on Regents academics. All five boroughs of NYC are served.

The faculty consists of 28 teachers, 80% of whom have at least a Master’s degree. We have a full time social worker, part time college counselor and a part time librarian.

Ezra Academy is host to many events, such as Ezra Academy’s yearly Retreat, which is held at Camp Moshava in Honesdale, Pennsylvania.

Over 100 students and most of our Judaic staff members and administrators (along with spouses and families) spend four fun filled days, playing sports, giving shiurim and bonding with each other. The highlight of the weekend is Shabbos – a 25 hour spiritual experience which turns learning into living. Our students get the opportunity to see what the abstract concepts of the Sabbath mean in real life, and the joy of that Shabbos help launch many of them on a new path of personal commitment

Each year, Ezra also sponsors a Simchas Beis Hashoeva for the upper classes and alumni. And, each year you can find Ezra students marching down 5th Avenue, cheering on for The Salute to Israel Parade. These are just some of the examples of events and traditions your child can look forward to as a student of Ezra Academy.
