Focus On Bay Ridge Play Place

by NYC Firm Schools on March 27, 2012

Continuing with the Bay Ridge theme, Bay Ridge Play Place is a fun day care center and nursery school located in Brooklyn, NYC.

The school got its start in 1991 and has been licensed by the Department of Health. All classrooms and equipment are safe and child-friendly and offers programs for children from infant to toddler size.

The administrator of Bay Ridge Play Place comes from a background in management and marketing and strives to make the school a fun environment that is also educational. Faculty strives to help young children develop their motor skills, intellect, physical stamina, and emotional well-being. Great care is also taken to help each child transition smoothly from home to the school environment.

Bay Ridge has four classrooms:

  • The Caterpillar Room is for children ages 2-12 months
  • The Bumblebee Room serves ages 12-24 months
  • The Penguin Room is for children ages 2 to 3-1/2 years
  • The Dolphin Room is set aside for older children ages 3-1/2 to 5 years old

Each classroom opens at 7 a.m. and runs through 6:30 p.m. Throughout the day children play, take naps, eat lunch, have a snack, and enjoy a variety of activities designed to stimulate their minds and teach them age-appropriate skills.

For instance, the Caterpillar children have scheduled diaper change time and bottle time. The Dolphin kids have reading time, coloring time, story time, and puzzle time.

Each class is headed by a teacher with experience and background in preschool or nursery school education. The school does accept ACD and will help parents fill out the appropriate paperwork, if necessary.
