Crèche du Monde is a sibling in the New International Academy family of Firm Schools. The other school in the family is Preschool du Monde.
Both NIA schools are located on the Upper West Side in Manhattan. The schools are nonsectarian and non-profit (pending approval). Their overall mission is to care for and educate children ages 3 months to 5 years.
The preschool reaches children starting at age 2. The organization as a whole has a 4-part mission:
- Provide caregiving services for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers
- Establish a curriculum that nurtures, challenges, and engages children as lifelong learners
- Offer a fully integrated foreign language program
- Enable community advancement and involvement for every student
Crèche du Monde offers an infant and a toddler program. The infant program puts every infant on an individualized eating, sleeping, and playing schedule. Great care is taken to provide consistency and security for each child in the program. The toddler program encourages children to explore and grow at their own pace. The atmosphere is fun and nurturing.
Preschool du Monde utilizes the rolling admissions system. It is a dual-language early childhood development program with instruction in Spanish and English. Teachers strive to make every child fall in love with the learning process and work to develop their cognitive abilities, social skills, physical stamina, and language understanding.
The summer program is an extension of the preschool curriculum. Children practice reading and writing, take frequent field trips, learn to swim, and study music, arts & crafts, and theater.
