Focus On Immaculate Conception School

Immaculate Conception School is the oldest Catholic school in the Bronx.
Established in 1954, the school serves students Pre-K through eighth grade.

The core philosophy behind the Immaculate Conception curriculum is that a sound education is Christ-centered and based on traditional Catholic values.

One of the unique aspects of education at Immaculate Conception School is the focus on writing. Writing is integrated into all aspects of the curriculum so that interest in writing and overall literacy is excellently achieved. Students are assigned writing tasks such as biographies, essays, and other narratives throughout their education at Immaculate Conception.

Students visit the library frequently and they also participate in computer lab on a regular basis. The school also has a fully-equipped science lab and students are encouraged to develop a literacy in art and music.

Immaculate Conception students have been accepted into some of the finest high schools in New York, including Acquinas, All Hollows, Cardinal Hayes, Cristo Rey, Cardinal Spellman, Monsignor Scanlan, Mount Saint Ursula, and Mount Saint Michael’s. That’s just to name a few.
