by NYC Firm Schools on October 24, 2010

New Dorp Christian Academy is a Staten Island private school dedicated to the education of the whole child. They believe that academics are important, but spiritual growth is just as important. As the website says, some of the best parts of education take place outside of the classroom.

New Dorp administrators see themselves in partnership with parents and the church. For that reason, they encourage strong parent involvement.

The basis of the academic curriculum at New Dorp Christian Academy is the A Beka Book publications. Education begins at nursery school and runs through eighth grade.

Nursery school students have the option of choosing between a half-day program or a full-day program. In addition, they can choose between 2-, 3-, 4-, and 5-day programs. New Dorp Christian Academy also offers full-day kindergarten programs.

Children in kindergarten through eighth grade have access to music and drama programs. The reading program is by phonics and New Dorp also has strong math and traditional academic programs.

New Dorp was opened in 1974. Initially, it started as a nursery school and grew from there.

Graduates of New Dorp Christian Academy are accepted into the finest high schools in New York. In fact, 95% of graduating students get their first choice of high school programs. You and your child can join the many other parents who have been satisfied with the education received at New Dorp.
